Ballast Point - Amberice

A beer that doesn’t really fit into a style (although if one were being a stickler, one could probably put it into the International Amber Lager category), this beer’s inspiration is a Japanese lager (using a healthy proportion of rice), but turned more malt-ward towards a Vienna Lager via the use of a more punch base malt (pale) and specialty malts to transform it into an amber/red color. LIght-bodied and refreshing, but still malt-driven and satisfying, with the signature rice aroma and crispness of a Japanese lager and a hint of toasted bread and roastiness.
