A collaboration with Corporate Ladder.
We made this mead with some amazing orange blossom honey, pineapples and bananas from Costa Rica, tangerines from Uruguay, blackberries and cherries from the US.
We wanted to keep the tropical vibe going, so we aged it in a freshly emptied coconut rum barrel from Trinidad. After 20 months in the wood and another 3% ABV it emerges darker in color. Bursting with coconut on the nose. The flavor profile has shifted a bit during aging. The cherry and blackberry take center stage along with a bit of micro-oxidative notes up front and that coconut on the back. Will make for a fun side by side with the base.
