Beer description
Aroma dominated by a clearly added, ethereal spice – very clove- and even eucalyptus-like but actually cardamom seed, with an effect vaguely reminiscent of cough syrup; behind this spice rack onslaught follow impressions of brown bread, baked banana, iron (!), toffee, white rum, dried figs, bitter tree leaves, sugared tea, cane sugar cubes, freshly cut red apples and damp earth. Sweet onset, lots of residual dark sugariness (muscovado sugar-like) sticking to the teeth even; estery aspects of banana, fig, pear and red apple, in a very fizzy environment.
