Beer description
Aroma of fresh pomelo, mandarin, guava, ripe sweet lychees, pine-scented air freshener somewhere, maracuja, lemon bread, freshly grated ginger, green onions (the Simcoe, no doubt), lavender-scented hand soap, cloves, freshly cut apples, pineapple, soggy sandwiches. Fruity, estery onset, peach, red apple and pineapple, sweetish with a sourish edge accentuated by strong, fizzy carbonation, minerally, coarsening an otherwise fluffy, soft mouthfeel, somewhat oily on the edges; soggy-biscuity and brioche-bready malt sweetness drenched in lingering fruity esters and spicy phenols, but fortunately - and so it ought to be for a double dry-hopped IPA - the hops get the upper hand quickly, exhibiting a colourful, fruity, bit piney and oniony but mostly very citric aroma retronasally, as well as a zesty, spicy, lively bitterness that lasts for quite a long time, even if it does not entirely block the yeasty effects which are - even under the camouflage provided by the hops - all too dominant here (see the gushing as well) and add somewhat distracting bready and phenolic effects.
