Bog Iron Bold Move

Oh, the humble black lager; they’ve got a history with this style. Way back in the early days of Bog Iron Brewing, one of their first beers was a black lager called “Black Steam”. The name was later changed to “Cease and Desist” after… well… they got a cease and desist letter for violating a trademark. Eventually, they cancelled the beer and on and off over the years had talked about bringing it back, but couldn’t find the right scenario. When they decided to name a beer after Rob, Bog Iron’s super award winner, they let him pick the style and he immediately suggested “black lager… with currants.” Done.
