Beer description

Monastery fruit is brewed from the fruits of the black mulberry tree. This tree is originally from Asia. And was once brought to Europe by the Romans. Since mulberry trees can live for centuries, very old specimens can still be found in the gardens of Kloostertuin. The oldest mulberry tree in Europe stands in the heart of Dokkum, on the sunny south wall of St. Maarten Church. It is said that one can feel the presence of God in their foliage. Today a divine drink is brewed from the fruits.
