In Napoleon's time, Pauwel Kwak was a brewer and the owner of the inn "De Hoorn" in Dendermonde. Mail coaches stopped there every day. But in those days the drivers were not allowed to leave their carriages and horses to quench their thirst with their passengers. So the inventive innkeeper had a special Kwak glass blown that could be hung on the carriage. That way the driver would have his kwak beer safely to hand. APPEARANCE: Kwak can be recognized by its deep, light amber color and a dense cream head. The light wood of the glass holder forms a pleasant contrast to the beer. SMELL: You smell a soft, fruity and malty aroma with a slightly spicy character (coriander, hops). Additional earthy and very subtle aromas of banana and maybe a hint of pineapple or mango in the background. TASTE: Discover a very soft, fruity attack, a nougat-like firmness and a slightly spicy character with hints of liquorice, which fades into a warm finish reminiscent of caramelized banana. The bitterness always stays in the background, but gently emerges at the end.
Rötlicher Bernstein, schöne Blume, malzig, Karamell, Biskuit, mild herb, fruchtig, läuft hervorragend und schmeckt auch so.
