Beer description
Inspired by ancestral brewing methods that used an infinite number of spices and herbs instead of hops (this type of beer is often called ‘gruit’), it is amber-red in colour and has a fine lace of foam. In this case, typically Scottish herbs (heather and mugwort) are used. Gruit is an old style, dating back to the days when hops were little known and very rarely used in beer. These are unusual beers, very floral, fairly thin and slightly caramelised.
