Beer description

Far from referring to a song by Éric Lapointe, À l'ombre de l'ange is a truly fantastic blend. On the one hand, a barley wine aged for 19 months in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels and, on the other, an imperial stout aged for 24 months in MGP bourbon barrels, this beer represents the tenderness of dark beers. It has a velvety, sweet side, enveloped by the warmth of alcohol and ageing in bourbon barrels. Slightly carbonated, it draws more on the caramelised side of these types of beers, where there is almost a sponge-like quality. Easy (too easy, even) to drink, this is the kind of dark beer that brings you just close enough to taste heaven or, as we like to call it, the angel's share.
