Beer description
It is said that there is a tree that blooms every 150 years in the courtyard of Count Orlok's palace. And every 150 years, the tree becomes greener than all the trees in Transylvania, where the count's palace is located, and in its heart, a fruit grows that no one is allowed to touch, as it is said to be haunted. Haunted because, in the evening, you can see the slender figure of the famous Count Orlok descend from his palace to pick the fruit under the soft light of the full moon. Children who are encouraged by their friends to steal a fruit from the tree known as Portocale always find a sweet, juicy fruit that we call an orange here on the other side of the Atlantic. The next morning, according to legend, every child who stole fruit from the tree disappeared, devoured or taken in their sleep by Count Orlok, protector of his beloved fruit.
This story, shared with us by the guys at Blackout Brewing in Transylvania during our trip to Hungary, is etched in our memory more deeply than a vampire's fangs, and that is what strangely led us to this collaboration. As dark as the night when the Count descends from his palace, this beer is a testament to his infamy, where the taste of Portocale sinks into us like venom promising his visit, while combining the inviting taste of chocolate and vanilla, those dark temptations.
Raising our glasses to our Transylvanian friends,
Noroc și multă Sănătate
