A brewery that has something to offer is also happy to offer a strong beer. As early as 1985 there was a forerunner of our "Celler Bekenner-Bock", the "Cellenser Bock", but only as a maypole and for Christmas. Brewed with a good 16% original wort, the alcohol content is 6.9%. Incidentally, the eponym for the "confessor-buck" was the Celle duke "Ernst the Confessor", who professed the Reformation. His monument is on the Stechbahn in the heart of the city of Celle, just a few meters from the "pillory bar" in the basement of the town hall, where only the "Celler beers" are served.
