Beer description
The "dicker Pitter" has its peak season in winter, but is available all year round. Originally, Bock beers were brewed by cooling a "normal beer" in a tank until water froze. An ice layer formed at the edge of the storage tank. Since alcohol has a lower freezing point than water, it does not freeze and the alcohol content of the beer increases. This production method led to the finished beer being called "Eisbock". In our brewery, the Bock beer is brewed stronger from the beginning and not later frozen out.
