Beer description
At the end of 2018 we got a fun selection of used whiskey barrels from our friends at Bull Run Distillery in Portland, Oregon. The most unique of the barrels were a couple of Oregon Pinot Noir barrels they had used to finish aging their 10 year old whiskey. The aromas coming out of the barrel seemed like a perfect pairing for our Organic Chocolate Porter. The dark chocolate aromas from the Theo Cocoa Nibs paired nicely with ripe grape, vanilla and black cherry aromas of the Pinot Noir Whiskey. This beer is definitely one to let warm up a bit before drinking. Aroma notes of dark chocolate, cherries, raspberries, Pinot Noir, and vanilla. Mildly sour from the dark chocolate and red wine. Dry for a whiskey aged beer.
