Beer description
La Città Vecchia Birra Goriot Saison is dedicated to the novel of the same name by Honoré del Balzac, which was published in 1834 and is considered one of the masterpieces of realism. This beer has a deep golden color with beautiful orange reflections, is slightly opalescent and has a fine, slightly ivory foam. The nose is immediately seduced by an intense, spicy bouquet of cardamom, ginger and orange blossom, which meets a round, well perceptible malty background laced with shortbread. After a few seconds in the glass, the spicy component gives way to memories of Jamaican pepper and juniper. The fine carbonation accompanies the first sip, which is predominantly sweet, with notes of acacia honey and orange marmalade, followed by the spicy aromas that are perceived on the nose, with a particular accent of cardamom and Jamaican pepper. There is also a balsamic tendency reminiscent of lavender. The body is rather lean and initiates a slightly bitter finish with notes of yarrow and a return to dried thyme and oregano in the aftertaste.
