Batch 52 is a very special and characterful edition in the La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged series. A staggering 70% of this batch consists of La Trappe Quadrupel, aged for five years in barrels previously used for Laphroaig whisky. Laphroaig is a Scottish Islay whisky, known for its powerful and distinctive flavors. This whisky is characterized by its characteristic smoky profile, derived from Scottish peated malt. During the malting process, peat is burned under the malt, giving it an intense, smoky aroma - essential for Islay whiskies. The remaining 30% of this batch was aged in new oak barrels, which impart softer flavors to the beer and increase its complexity. La Trappe Quadrupel Oak Aged Batch 52 is an expressive beer and a tribute to whisky lovers. This batch was bottled in September 2024.
