Wow, what do you mean double oaked? Well here we go: After its initial maturation in a new, charred American oak barrel (standard for bourbon), Woodford Double Oaked undergoes a second aging process in a freshly toasted and lightly charred oak barrel. This second barrel imparts more intense oak flavors, along with a toasted, almost caramelized character. The second barrel is toasted (slowly heated) rather than heavily charred, which helps release complex flavors like vanilla, caramel, and spice.
