100% Triple mashed stout base beers, on 100% Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon. These are the first specialty bourbons we empty from the container of barrels last year! Wow, what do you mean double oaked? Well here we go: After its initial maturation in a new, charred American oak barrel (standard for bourbon), Woodford Double Oaked undergoes a second aging process in a freshly toasted and lightly charred oak barrel. This second barrel imparts more intense oak flavors, along with a toasted, almost caramelized character. The second barrel is toasted (slowly heated) rather than heavily charred, which helps release complex flavors like vanilla, caramel, and spice. Cheers!!
