Beer description

A collaborative project, to create a robust imperial stout with nuances and subtle depth of flavour. Playing off the Egan's single malt whiskey "Gear" (Gaeilge for bitter) A delicate blend of 8 varieties of malt the building blocks of the beer from Irish grown base barley, chocolate malt, brown malt, flaked oats, roasted barley, biscuit malt, cara aroma, chocolate rye. Mashed at high temperatures for body retention, unconventional American yeast for fermentation to mimic the Irish single malt and the use of centennial hops in the boil to elevate a delicate floral nose. Aged in Egan's American oak, re-charred barrel lending bright vanillin tannin to the back end.
