Dovetail Czech Dark Lager

Inspired by JP's afternoon in Prague at U Fleku - a brewery that has been making dark lager for more than 500 years - Dovetail's Czech Dark Lager is a malt extravaganza of chocolate, bread crust, caramel and subtle coffee roast, Saaz hops and Czech "sky water". As in the past, we used traditional brewing techniques, including triple decoction and open fermentation. It has a rich, complex maltiness balanced by a slight bitterness - it's a cozy take on our Swallowtail Pilsener and a reminder of that afternoon in a medieval beer garden.
