E.C. Dahls Bryggeri AS - E.C.Dahls Cold IPA

What we call cold IPA is not, as the name suggests, an ale, but a hop-rich lager fermented at a lower temperature than a traditional IPA. The beer combines the crispness and lightness of a light lager with the fresh hop signature of an IPA. This beer is brewed with Espen Breivik. The prelude was the Trøndersk Ølfestival, which we organized at the brewery for the first time in October 2022. The festival held a homebrew competition beforehand, and Espen was the winner. Part of the prize was to brew the winning beer on a large scale here at E.C. Dahls. In addition to pilsner malt, the beer is brewed with Hopshiner Malt from Bonsak Gårdsmalteri. Hopshiner is designed for hop-rich beers. The yeast type is a classic German lager yeast.
