Beer description
Egmond aan Zee is an old fishing town, founded in 977.
A tenth of the catch had to be ceded to Egmond Abbey.
In 1670, the fleet consisted of 30 flat-bottomed fishing pincers.
In 1900, the last boats were sold and fishermen sailed elsewhere in the fishing fleet.
The large St Agniet church, which collapsed into the sea, was a beacon in the sea for the fishermen.
