New Zealand Pilsner - Nelson Sauvin x Rakau, 11°Blg
The first new pilsner of the season is a collaboration with New Zealand-based Flying Nun Records. The label was founded in the early 1980s and has had a huge impact on the country's independent music scene. We love the music released on the label, especially from the first half of the 1980s.
Thanks to bands like The Clean, The Bats, The Chills, The Verlaines, Look Blue Go Purple, Jean-Paul Sartre Experience, and Tall Dwarfs, the so-called Dunedin Sound was born. Dunedin Sound was a combination of punk rock, art pop, as well as rock and psychedelic music of the 1960s. The music of the iconic Flying Nun bands also had a major impact on the independent music scene in the US.
