Beer description
A first for Garage. And it’s one that the brewery is very excited about. Many of the team here are big fans of Belgian style ales so their first Tripel has been met with a lot of enthusiasm. Enhanced with a light touch of Sumac for a lemony tang, this is a strong beer but is imminently drinkable. Sumac is a spice that is very popular in Middle Eastern cooking and is essential in the spice blend Za’atar due to it’s sherbety, lemony flavour. This recipe is simple but the ingredient selection and process is what really makes a beer like this tick. High quality Pilsner malt, sugar, noble hops, aromatic sumac and a famous Belgian yeast strain lead to a pale beer that is complex and satisfying. Aromas of pear, bubblegum, lemon zest and black pepper are followed by a light bodied, elegant liquid that belies its strong 8.5% alcohol. Each sip is full of flavour before giving way to a dry finish with a tangy and lightly bitter finish. If there was ever a strong beer that suits summer time, this is it.
