Garagiste Meadery - Snowberry

A Traditional mead made using Snowberry Honey. Snowberries are endemic to Idaho/Utah and the Mountain West. They can’t be commercially cultivated; they only grow in the wild. As Spring transitions to Summer the blossoms open and the bees collect nectar. So you are dealing with a very determined beekeeper here. You’ve got to have access to where Snowberries propagate. Then you have to take the hives there which is no small feat. The resultant honey has notes of butterscotch, toffee and cherries. Since this honey is pretty darn difficult to find; we decided to go all in. Fermented with a boutique hybrid strain from Australia weve not used before. Aged on French Oak.
