In 1597 the innkeeper Gabriel Mayer founded the inn, brewery and wine bar Zum Goldenen Ochsen in Herdbruckerstraße in Ulm's old town near the Danube. Ownership has changed frequently over time. In 1991 Ulrike Freund, the daughter of the former managing director August Leibinger, took over the management of the family business in the fifth generation. This straw-blond beer specialty shines under the snow-white head of foam. Thanks to the extensive craftsmanship of the traditional brewery, the Tettnang aroma hops and barley malt used are perfectly balanced and make the beer a mild, tasty and balanced taste experience.
