Graminger Kirta, a dark wheat beer, was once developed as a festival beer for the Altöttinger Kirta. Kirta is a Bavarian dialect term for the festival that commemorates the consecration of the church building.
Dark and roasted malts give the beer its mahogany colour. The aroma is fruity, ripe bananas and dried fruit. Fine noses will even detect a slight hint of chocolate! Full-bodied and soft on the palate. Roasted malt flavour (with chocolate again) with a fruity, subtle sweetness.
Graminger Kirta goes well with strong dishes with dark sauces like Roast beef, grilled beef tenderloin, beer goulash. Or to desserts with chocolate.

Now THIS is a departure from the typical German Lager. A lot more malty and flavorful. Very good.
