Spontaneous, sour
Fermentation
Beer description
In Bartlehiem you will find Grutte Pier's Brouwboerderij. A place where beer and nature come together. Where we make wild and/or sour beers. And where we especially experiment.
The search for the power of Saison is no exception. Americans call it a Farmhouse Ale, a specialty beer from the Farm. Blonde to amber-colored, top-fermented and with secondary fermentation in the bottle. Characteristic of a Saison are the spicy, citrus-like character and the dry aftertaste. The taste is bitter, sweet, sometimes slightly sour and often has spicy and cellar-like aromas. Aromas of leather and a cattle barn are also not strange in this beer type. This time with a bit of caramel malt.
