In Nigeria the government wish to promote the use of Sorghum, which grows better than barley. Therefore in Nigeria Guinness is made using sorghum and Guinness Flavour Extract, a dehydrated, hopped wort extract made from barley malt and roasted barley. The Guinness Flavour Extract is shipped from Ireland, where it is added at the ratio of 1:49 to locally brewed pale beer.
