MTRC is a German-style Helles lager. Helles is the German word for ‘bright’ or ‘light’ and refers to the pale straw/golden color of the beer. Dating back to the tail end of the 1800s, helles lagers emerged in Munich as a response to the alien invasion of pilsners. (gasp!)
