Beer description

In Flemish a pint is called a pintje. A pintje is usually a pilsner. There is a similarity in the pronunciation of pintje and what the Flemish call a pintje. A pintje comes in 25cl. Beer ordering is easy and common, usually with a light tap on the table, holding up a pinky finger and then specifying the number of beers you and your friends, or maybe just yourself, would like to drink. The slightest knock is heard, the beers come in the right numbers, the beers are good, the company is good. We usually order a pintje at Sporting Pigeon which has a chilled vibe, unless there's a football game on then it's a chilled vibe too. Some kind of billiards, bingo and cards are played in the back area. Pintje holders are placed under the table so they don't get in the way of the cards. If you win at bingo you get canned goods of all kinds. We miss this time in Belgium and that's why we made a Belgian Pilsner called Pintje. We set up our bar to have a similar atmosphere. As our bar is closed at the moment this pintje will be more of an American size in 16oz cans but we will be progressively pouring it into a 25cl glass at home. We encourage you to do the same. Brewed with Belgian Pilsner, hops that we would use in Belgium and lager yeast. Pintje is tasty. It's very tasty. We are happy with it and hope you will be too. It's been aged for 6 weeks and crimped to give it that soft carbonation and refinement that we love about it. It's simple and elegant. It reminds us of Belgium.
