Hana Koa Brewing - Holua

Holua sledding was once the most extreme sport in Hawaiian culture. Perpetuated through story and legend alike, we brewed this Red Ale in rememberence of the holua race that took place between Pele, Goddess of Fire, and Poliahu, Goddess of Snow, atop Maunakea. This beer is true to style with no nonsense. We incorporated a healthy dose of Chinook and El Dorado hops to support the robust malt backbone. Notes of toasted biscuit, molasses and grapefruit encapsulate the senses.
