The Moninger family made its big breakthrough in 1904 with the "Export" type of beer. For the recipe, the brewmasters went deep into the history of the brewery and went in search of the original recipe and the original brewing process of the Moninger Export and transferred them into the modern age. The result: "The Moni"! "Moni" is a tribute to Marie Moninger, who together with her husband Stefan Moninger built up the brewery in the first generation and became the defining figure in the founding years.
