The hops are the heart of Ittingen amber beer. It is grown exclusively in the hop garden of the Ittingen Charterhouse and harvested in summer. Ittinger Amber is brewed with four different types of barley and malt. It is only thanks to these special raw materials that it gets its extraordinary full-bodied character with the unmistakable brilliant amber color. This mixture distinguishes our amber beer specialty and makes it a luxury beer of the upper class. Ittinger Amber is the first amber in Switzerland and the only one with real origins in a monastery.
