Hofstettner - Erdbeer Weisse Next Generation (Camba x Hofstettner)

The idea to reissue the legendary “Erdbeerweisse” (strawberry wheat beer) from the so-called “8 Glorreichen 7” (8 Glorious 7) arose from a creative exchange between Anna Lohner (Camba Bavaria) and Erik and Jana from the Hofstetten Brewery. The new version – the “Next Generation” – was brewed with Camba Bavaria's wheat beer yeast and then fermented with real strawberry purée. The nose initially reveals a full portion of strawberry, followed by the typical, delicate wheat beer banana notes. The color? Slightly darker, but not red – and yet: with a strawberry on the rim of the glass, it shimmers beautifully and immediately makes you want to take your first sip. On the palate, strawberry fruit and banana yeast aromas come together in a harmonious duet. The finish remains pleasantly berry-like and immediately invites you to take another sip. Perfect as a refreshing accompaniment to a light summer salad, for toasting with friends, or simply as a little reminder of how exciting beer can be – especially when tradition and innovation come together.
