Beer description
Blood Eagle is one of our earliest releases and is back! A cross between a Flanders Red and a British Stock Ale, brewed with a blend of crystal, amber, and rye malts. The first fermentation was done with one of our favorite Brettanomyces blends, in addition to our house yeast and bacteria culture.
This beer was then blended with a one-year-old, red wine barrel-aged Lager (70/30). This blend was transferred onto 200 g/l of seasonal Victoria plums at the brewery. Some of these plums were smoked over wine barrel staves at the brewery. The resulting beer is complex and wine-like with a subtle smoky note.
