Beer description
Munich, smoked wheat and chocolate malt brewed with American lager yeast, with added maple. "Moderate caramel, ripe plum, prunes, rich bitter chocolate, roasted coffee and light smoke flavors with black raisins that kick in quickly. Strong roasted notes make it a stylistic outlier, but the flavor is complex with caramel, roasted and toffee malt notes, light black liquorice, hints of bacon smoke, moderately sweet chocolate and lots of dark fruit - plums, black raisins, prunes and black cherries It's very layered, the light maple notes suggest sweetness, but it is well balanced with a strong bitterness and a powerful but clean alcohol. Dark fruit and toffee linger in the semi-sweet finish, yet conveying a crisp lager character."
