Kehrwieder - Hamburger Senatsbock Barrel Aged #1

A Belgian seasonal yeast gave the Senatsbock Extra Brut 2023 a wonderfully dry character with exciting spicy notes. This creation was allowed to spend 12 months in the barrel room, resulting in two different wooden barrel editions. The Barrel Aged Senatsbock #1 matured for a full 12 months in blended whiskey (ex-sherry) barrels. The result is a doppelbock of incomparable complexity and depth. Caramel notes mingle with the sweet hint of cloves, while the oak from the cask exudes a subtle warmth. A pinch of pepper provides a pleasant spiciness, which is accompanied by nuances of dark chocolate.
