Beer description
German Pils, 11°Blg
Our new German new wave pils takes its name from a musical and cultural trend that took place in the 1970s in Germany.
The name Krautrock refers to German bands that expanded the sonic possibilities of art rock and progressive rock. In this movement, artists combined elements of different genres such as psychedelic rock, avant-garde forms of electronic music, funk rhythm, jazz improvisation and ethnicity. Working with early synthesisers and combining seemingly unconnected reels of tape, bands such as Faust, Can and Neu created a droning, pulsating sound that owed more to the avant-garde than to rock'n'roll. They largely rejected the conventions of rock music and instead drew on 'serious electronic compositions'.
Our New Wave Krautrock Pils is hopped with the following New Wave varieties of German hops: Hallertau Blanc, Huell Melon, Mandarina Bavaria. For the bitterness and during hopping during fermentation, we used the excellent German Perle hops.
The beer is dry and crisp, and by the hops used it takes German Pils to a slightly different dimension.
