Description
Wilde Traube is a wood barrel-aged sour beer specialty. To achieve its sourness, a hop-forward pale ale underwent a second fermentation with lactic acid bacteria. This took place in oak barrels using must from Silvaner grapes. After a final bottle fermentation in 0.75 liter bottles, the result is an extraordinary treat that combines hop aromas with white wine and is refined by a pleasant wood aroma. Wilde Traube is a collaboration with the Clemens Winery in Sulzheim and is limited to 450 wax-sealed, hand-numbered bottles.
