Lanius - Trenciansky Pivovar - Lanius Weizenbier

This wheat beer is produced in the German Weizenbier style with more than 70% wheat malt. The amber colour as well as the subtle almond flavour is due to the special wheat malt from the German Weyermann malting plant. The German Hallertauer hop variety gives this exceptional beer a by-linkage flavour masked by the typical weizen taste of fruit and cloves. Brewing wheat beer has a tradition of more than five hundred years in Trenčín. In 1546, King Ferdinand of Habsburg granted the city of Trenčín the privilege of exclusively brewing wheat beer on condition that the money raised would be used to rebuild the city walls. Historical sources describe Trenčín wheat beer as being well known as far away as Vienna. We are honoured to continue this tradition.
