Beer description
Sawdust City Brewing Company has brewed a beer using a yeast strain collected from Muskoka. On May 1st, 2015 Sawdust City Brewers and Escarpment Lab technicians collected a viable, alcohol-tolerant yeast strain from the Limberlost Forest and Wildlife Reserve near Huntsville, ON. To keep the ingredients as local as possible the beer also contains hops from Clear Valley Hops in Collingwood. The beer will be can- conditioned. Can-conditioned ales are a live product, canned with a small amount of yeast that provides additional fermentation that adds flavour. Sawdust City is one of a few Canadian breweries that produce can-conditioned beers.
