Beer description
If you know us, you know traditional Meads hold a very special place in our hearts. We love making them, we love drinking them, and we love sharing them with all of you, so we're stoked to announce that "Wish You Were Here", the newest Mead in our Love Letters To The West series.
Like "Dear Montana," this is a traditional Mead aged on American oak and showcasing the terroir of the West. But this one celebrates two very special Southern California honey varietals: Western Buckwheat Blossom and Avocado Blossom. Each of these honey is dark, intense, and takes some skill to turn into a truly great traditional Mead. Challenge accepted... we decided to use both. The end result is a delicious, sweet traditional Mead that is built to be sipped and savored. 13% abv, ready to enjoy now or cellar for years.
Meadmaker Tasting Notes:
Aroma: notes of brown sugar, coffee, fresh banana bread, and toasted oak.
Taste: rich caramel and toffee notes lead to a luscious finish with soft tannins that balance the sweetness.
