Maisel & Friends - Tropical Coast

Winner of the 4th Maisel & Friends and BrauBeviale Homebrewing Competition 2021, themed “West Coast IPA” – “Tropical Coast” by Fernando Coppi. Tropical Coast shines beautifully in the glass with a light haze and a creamy head, displaying a lovely honey-colored hue. As the name Tropical Coast suggests, this West Coast IPA has an intense aroma that won over the jury from the very start. A delightful hoppy fruit medley of pineapple, lychee, passion fruit, orange, lemon, and apricot fills the nose. A hint of pine and a slightly resinous note, combined with a touch of honey, enhance the aroma. With the first sip, the interplay of hops is revealed on the taste buds, reminiscent of a tropical fruit basket. The tongue first perceives notes of passion fruit, apricot, orange, and pineapple, accompanied by pleasant bitter notes of orange and citrus peel. A dominant and style-typical bitterness perfectly rounds out the IPA with a wonderful dry finish.
