For several months, the Chocolate Bock had a special home: it was allowed to mature in barrels that had previously been filled with the finest whisky from the Bavarian distillery Slyrs for several years.
When poured into a glass, the dark, chestnut-colored beer specialty is crowned by a wonderfully fine-pored foam. The aroma is reminiscent of Nutella, just not quite as sweet. An aroma of nuts, vanilla, chocolate, and caramel delights the nose. Creamy and soft, the first sip meanders past the taste buds and enchants with dark malt notes and a wonderful barrel aroma. Chocolatey and nutty notes hit with full force. In the finish, there is a pleasantly warming sensation that, with sweet caramel and vanilla notes, provides the perfect conclusion for this barrel-aged specialty.
