Since 2016, different breweries from around the world have been coming together time and again to contribute their personally selected hop varieties to our popular Double IPA. The result is a unique collaborative beer with an international character, year after year. For the ninth edition of the Hopfenreiter, we once again welcomed five breweries who contributed exciting hop varieties: - Vista by Moersleutel (Netherlands) - Strata by To Øl (Denmark) - Idaho7 by Wicklow Wolf (Ireland) - Polaris by Buddelship (Germany, Hamburg) - Mosaic by Fuerst Wiacek (Germany, Berlin) - Alora by Maisel & Friends In the glass, Hopfenreiter #9 displays a bright golden-orange, almost amber hue. Combined with its slight haze and creamy head, the Double IPA reveals its full splendor. The six hop varieties enchant the nose with an incredible aroma, whose complexity intensifies with every sip. The scent of this strong IPA evokes a variety of fruits, such as orange, peach, blueberry, black currant, strawberry, mandarin, gooseberry, and grapefruit. On the palate, the drinker is met with an incredible intensity of flavor. Aromas of sweet fruits like peach and mirabelle plum emerge and transition into those of a tropical fruit basket, with different fruit notes coming to the fore with every sip. The finish is dry and pleasantly bitter, typical of the beer style. Slightly peppery nuances and notes reminiscent of a hint of menthol perfectly round out our hop cocktail.
