Maisel & Friends - Luna Hop

Winner of the 8th Maisel & Friends and BrauBeviale Homebrewing Competition in 2025, themed “Italian Style Pilsner” – "LunaHop" by Markus Klössinger. Maisel & Friends LunaHop is a German classic, but in Italian style: an extra dose of hops gives this tart Pilsner a floral freshness and light citrus notes, rounded out by a subtle malt sweetness. The name is a nod to the Italian pop group Lùnapop. Maisel & Friends LunaHop appears honey-yellow and slightly cloudy in the glass, topped with a fine-pored, snow-white head. On the nose, delicate hop notes unfold with grassy and herbal accents, accompanied by a hint of fresh citrus and grapefruit zest. On the palate, this Italian Pilsner is pleasantly light, dry, and harmoniously balanced. The delicate malt body serves as an elegant backdrop for a precise yet never overpowering hop bitterness. A fresh, invigorating impression constantly invites the next sip, allowing the hop aromas of citrus, herbs, and fresh grass to subtly emerge again and again. On the finish, LunaHop is crisp, dry, and persistently tart, with an elegant aftertaste of refined hop notes.
