Kolsch is the local specialty beer of Cologne (Köln), Germany. It is clear with a bright, straw-yellow hue, has a prominent but not extreme hoppiness, and has broad, sweet flavors kept in check by the lagering process. It is very clean, crisp and delicately balanced, and is an easy-drinking brew.
