Beer description
Huge Barleywine conceived with one goal: go big. Made up of mostly Maris Otter & a bag each of oat malt, caramel malt, and pale chocolate malt, we wanted something that was undoubtedly a Barleywine but pushed the limits. When we talked to the dudes at Eighth State, we told them we just brewed a stout that got up to 45 Plato (Which is really high) & suggested doing a simple Barleywine base the same way. They said, “That sounds incredible; let’s do it,” & we brewed this behemoth. When it was ready for barrels, we split the batch between 4 Roses & Evan Williams 1783 barrels & aged for just under 2 years. Expect deeply reduced caramel, intense dates/raisins & smooth bourbon flavor, elevated oak & warm finish from the Evan Williams 1783 bourbon barrels.
