Beer description
English Porter.
A few hundred years ago, pub owners near the London port and train stations were known to serve local porters a cheap blend of beer comprised of the remains of two or three brews that they could not sell. An ideal, inexpensive beverage to replenish one’s energy, it became known as “Porter’s Beer.” As its popularity grew, brewers then developed a beer called Entire Butt, incorporating various attributes of the original mixture to create a slightly sweet, malty brown beer with lightly burnt caramel notes. It is in homage to this era that Big Ben Porter was created. Moderately dry with flavors of slightly burnt caramel malts and English hops to bring a light bitterness and balance it all.
