Open Gate - Mint Julep Style Ale

This is our version of the famous cocktail of the same name. Ours doesn't contain bourbon - but it spent a whopping 18 months in Kentucky bourbon casks. All the notes of the cask - vanilla and oak in particular - are present, along with a large dose of bourbon aroma. After taking it out of the barrel we added dried mint which really shows off. The base beer was brewed with lactose sugar, which means that the beer retains some residual sweetness. A complex beer with which we celebrate the end of a complex year. To the year 2022!
