Beer description
MISATO - Sansho Spiced Yuzu IPA.
MISATO is an IPA that has been assembled from different worlds. The yeast comes from Belgium, Wit and Saison yeast. The hops are from the USA, Citra, Idaho7, and Amarillo, with additional ingredients such as coriander seeds and orange peel typical of the style. From Japan comes Sansho pepper and Yuzu. The malt base is light and creamy due to the use of wheat and oat flakes.
Overall, MISATO is fresh, complex, and flavorful. The yeast and hops are present, while the orange peel and coriander seeds play around and support them.
The Yuzu provides an intense aroma of lemon, mandarin, grapefruit, and a hint of bergamot - bright, clear, and elegant. The Sansho pepper provides that typical, slightly prickly, spicy mouthfeel and adds depth to the beer. Overall, it's incredibly fresh, lively, aromatic, and yet balanced.
Hops
